One of the greatest struggles every teacher, instructor, coach, professor, mentor or guru face is how to help their students understand worldviews, get them to explore their worldview and then change it in a meaningful manner.
The best example of this process is the parable telling carpenter/teacher from Galilee. It took time and effort to change the simple peasants of Galilee into change agents that “turned their world upside down.”
When we examine a worldview, it is important to explore its formation and impact on life.
Once it is explained, the key question is how to help them change their worldview methodically. Worldviews have their own traceable history.
The story of modern science, modern economics or even modern politics is never separated or studied with respect to how the worldview was birthed and then changed. Interestingly, science, economics and politics got modernized in Europe. How and Why does this matter?
No one asks the deeper questions about this process:
How does this differ from the biblical worldview, so that you can then develop a healthy worldview?
Everyday youngsters, college kids and youth in High school, in general embrace despair and develop addictions because the culture seems to communicate a lack of meaning for life.
The frustration of seeing the younger generation stray away from the church, especially when they go to college and join the thinking process promoted by the liberal media, as truth is evident. Increasingly the modern world seems to be cauldron of despair, with senseless shootings, deliberate murder and crime, despair is on the rise.
You might have faced the pain of a parental divorce, or be carrying the scars of a broken relationship, the fear and anxiety of being alone in an increasingly hostile world. Your students are not ready for “profound knowledge” if these scars prevent them from deeper learning.
